Plotstream Features

The Plotstream plotting system is a project-centric framework where you can configure, control, and delegate plotting decisions to your enterprise. Now anyone in the enterprise can plot quickly, accurately, and consistently to a multitude of devices - all items vital to a successful, profitable, and agile enterprise. The following is a detailed listing of the features in the Plotstream core components.

PSClient - PSClient is used to submit Agents (plot jobs) to the plot server for processing. This is the desktop user interface where the user selects a project that already has most of the plot configuration settings "preselected".

PSConfig - PSConfig is used by a plot administrator to configure projects.  This is the desktop user interface used to set-up and input all plot parameters for an individual project.

PSDirect - PSDirect is a component that can run inside of AutoCAD® on the workstation. It is used to gather plot log information from drawings plotted directly from AutoCAD®. This ensures all plots are logged to the centralized file.

PSQueue - The PSQueue component is used to monitor and manipulate the queues of the Plotstream plot servers. It is a desktop user interface available on all client workstations.

PSEngine - The PSEngine performs all of the plot processing on the Plotstream server. It's user interface is only available on the Plotstream Server.

  PSClient

  • AutoCAD® is NOT required on the user's workstation.
  • Queues one or hundreds of drawings at a time.
  • Users can accept previously configured project settings or override with custom settings.
  • Most AutoCAD® plot options are available through the PSClient interface.
  • Places the burden of copying, opening, and processing drawing files on the server.
  • Plot jobs are very quickly queued to the server.
  • Set priority on Agents before submission.
  • Plot jobs can be saved, edited, and re-sent.
  • Processing order of the drawings can be manipulated within the Agent.
  • Submit agents to any available Plotstream Plot Server on the local or wide area network.
  • Easy wizard style interface.
  • Plot to file using any available print driver. (PLT, DWF, PDF)
  • Agents may be saved anywhere on the network. This allows them to be stored with project documentation and shared by others on the design team.
  • Agents may be saved without having any drawings included. This provides a means to set up "template" agents with default properties.
  • Support  for style based plot style tables (.STB).
  • You can browse outside of the project directory for drawing selection.
  • Quantities of individual drawings may be specified in the agent.
  • When plotting all drawing layouts, the order is controlled by the agent. By default, the layouts are plotted in the order that the layouts appear in the drawing (collated by ordinal). However, the order can be switched to the alphanumeric order of the layout name.
  • Drawing sort order can be reversed for "face up" style plotters.
  • A Properties summary dialog provides visual feedback on edits that have been made to the current agent.
  • Users can select paper size by the localized media name.
